President Akufo-Addo has urged electorates to exercise their civic responsibility of voting for their preferred candidate in the upcoming polls.
Addressing the nation a night before the December 7 polls, President Akufo-Addo encouraged Ghanaians to ensure peace and tolerance in the process for a free and fair elections.
“Let us go and cast our ballots in peace and dignity and in an environment of tolerance and mutual respect…Each one of us should go out and do his or her duty to ensure peaceful and prosperous Ghana and vote freely for your preferred candidate. Do this in peace and in dignity,” he said on December 6.
The president expressed trust and confidence in the Electoral Commission to deliver its mandate of ensuring a transparent and credible elections.
“We have a good reason to be proud of the Electoral Commission, the body that is charged with running our elections, today, it is a much more efficient and transparent institution and we are all ready to entrust with the responsibility of delivering free, fair and transparent election that reflects the will of the people,” Akufo-Addo noted.

He further called on Ghanaians to eschew any act of violence and cooperate with electoral officials and security personnel for a peaceful elections.
“I urge all of us to cooperate with the electoral officials to do their work and ensure that we can all be proud of having another notch to the list of successful elections we have held.
“The security agencies led by the police have also made all the relevant deployment and preparations that will guarantee the peace, law and order of the nation prior to, during and after the elections.
“Let us all cooperate with them to ensure that the elections is conducted in an atmosphere devoid of intimidation and violence,” President Akufo-Addo stressed.
