As Ghana approaches the December 7 elections, the Center for Performance Tracking and Outcome Mapping (CePTOM) appeals to all citizens to uphold and respect each other’s political choices and embrace the essence of democracy: diversity in opinion.
The beauty of democracy lies in the ability of every individual to express their political will freely and without fear. Where disagreements arise, it should not be grounds for conflict but rather opportunities to demonstrate the maturity and vibrancy of our political system. Differences in political opinion enrich our democracy and should be celebrated as a testament to Ghana’s democratic prowess.
We remind all citizens, political parties, and supporters that violence, intimidation, or coercion undermine the principles we seek to uphold. The exercise of political rights must be respected at all times.
Ghana’s strength lies in its unity amid diversity, and our collective responsibility is to ensure that this remains intact.
CePTOM urges leaders, candidates, and community influencers to actively champion this message of respect and tolerance. Let us use this period to show the world that Ghana’s democracy is not only robust but also peaceful and inclusive.
Together, we can set a remarkable example of civility, tolerance, and harmony. Let us protect our democracy by respecting every voice and every choice.
PEACE
