Ghanaian Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has opened up on why his legal issues with Bullgod, his former manager has not yet been resolved.
Bullgod recently filed a lawsuit against Shatta Wale after an earlier defamation suit against the artiste last year.
Speaking in an interview on BTM Afrika with NY DJ, Shatta revealed that they had agreed on an out-of-court settlement last year after an advice by the Judge hearing the defamation case.
The ‘Ayoo’ hitmaker said an amount of GH?100,000 legal settlement was agreed to be paid to Bullgod but he is yet to honour the agreement.
Explaining the reason why he has noy yet settled the payment, Shatta said Bulldog was not available when his team wanted to make the payment.
“Nobody has defaulted in paying Bullgod’s money. He didn’t even chase the money. He wasn’t in Ghana when we wanted to pay him, he was in America. So now that you are in Ghana, what do you have to do? He has reached out to anybody,” Wale said.
The ‘Killa Ji Mi’ crooner asserted that Bullgod’s revisit of the court “is a waste of time” because the case have already been settled.
Wale claimed that Bullgod’s proximity to the law court makes him enjoy litigation.
“You see Bulldog, if this is his house, this is the court so he wakes up and goes to court anyhow. When a chicken clucks, he goes to court. When a taxi driver toots the horn, he goes to court because his house is just close to the court,” he noted.
In the last quarter of the year 2022, Bullgod sued his former artiste for defamation.
This was after the musician threatened to expose his alleged secret regarding the death of the late artiste manager, Fennec Okyere, among others.
In March 2023, lawyers for the parties agreed out of court settlement for the defamation lawsuit case.
The lawyer for Bullgod, Justice Srem Sai, made this known when they appeared in court on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.
However, Shatta Wale is yet to honour his promise of paying Bulldog and his lawyers an agreed legal fee of GHC100,000.
