The flagbearer and leader of the Movement for Change Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, has promised the people of the Western Region that he plans to invest GHC400 million into a Traders’ Bank.
He said this will help boost economic growth and provide opportunities for traders and business owners.
He kicked off his tour at Tarkwa market and Agona Nkwanta market, listening to the concerns of market women and traders. From there, he headed to Takoradi Market Circle, Effiakuma Market, and made a stop at Kwesimintsim lorry station for a meet-and-greet with drivers.
During his mopping up campaign tour on December 2, Kyerematen also assured driver unions that he would provide them with brand-new vehicles to replace their old ones. These vehicles would be available through an installment plan, making it easier for drivers to own their own cars.
“I’m here to encourage you as we head to the polls on Saturday, December 7. I urge you all to vote for number thirteen on the ballot, Allan Kwadwo Kyerematen. I understand the challenges you face as businesswomen and transport operators.
“As president, my first priority will be to build a modern market for you, complete with a school for your kids and a hospital. I’m also aware of the struggles you face in accessing loans for your trading businesses. To address this, I’ll establish a Traders’ Bank with initial funding of 400 million cedis and offer low-interest rates.
This is part of my Great Transformational Plan, which aims to create a future where every trader has access to modern, well-equipped market facilities that drive prosperity and inclusivity” he stated.
He reassured driver unions that, if elected, his government would build modern lorry terminals nationwide to enhance their operations.
Kyerematen added that. “My government will introduce a vehicle replacement policy, allowing drivers to trade in their old cars for new ones through a work-and-pay plan. This initiative aims to empower drivers to own their vehicles, securing their financial future.”
He further assured the drivers that his government would implement measures to make fuel and spare parts more affordable, easing the financial burden on drivers and boosting their overall welfare.
Kyerematen’s promises are likely to resonate with the people of the Western Region, who are eager for economic growth and development. As a seasoned politician and former Minister for Trade and Industry, Kyerematen said he has the expertise to drive economic change and improve the lives of Ghanaians.
His final stop was at Abodze in the Shama district, where he met with fisher folks and urged them to vote for him in the upcoming elections. Throughout his campaign, Kyerematen has emphasized his commitment to economic empowerment and improving the lives of Ghanaians.
