The Ghana Police Service has commenced investigation into an incident involving the convoy of Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), on Friday, November 29, 2024.
According to a police statement released on Saturday, November 30, preliminary report indicates that the incident occurred between Akuse and Kpong, along the Akosombo-Accra Highway in the Eastern Region, when a dispatch rider from the opposite direction allegedly threw an object at the windscreen of a vehicle in the running mate’s convoy, causing damage to the windscreen.
“We would like to assure the public that the matter will be thoroughly investigated as we are committed to ensuring the safety of all persons before, during and after the 2024 General Elections,” the police said.
