Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has revealed plans to release his fifth studio album next year.
Davido made the revelation in an interview on The Baller Alert Show and confirmed that the much-anticipated album will drop “early 2025.”
The ‘Available’ crooner hesitated in providing further details about the project including its exact release date, featured artists, and the album’s title.
The 32-year-old rapper also revealed some interesting details regarding a collaboration with Odumodublvck and Chike that would be released in a few days.
Speaking about the collaboration, Davido referred to Odumodublvck as the “biggest Nigerian rapper” and likened Chike to American singer Bryson Tiller.
“We have another coming in a couple of days, it is called ‘Funds’. I featured the current biggest Nigerian rapper, Odumodublvck, and the Nigerian Bryson Tiller, girls love him is name is Chike,” he said.
On his forthcoming album, Davido hinted at its unique African essence: “My album will be coming out early next year. It will be a real African record.”
The Afrobeats artiste also stated that he is determined to stay in Nigeria despite the opportunities to relocate abroad.
“I have to stay tapped in because why run away from home when others are running there now,” he added.
Born David Adeleke, Davido shot to stardom in 2012 with Dami Duro, a hit single from his debut album Omo Baba Olowo. Over the years, he has released several successful projects, including A Good Time (2019), A Better Time (2020), and his most recent album, Timeless (2023).
