The University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) has decided to suspend its strike that sought to compel government to stop illegal mining.
This is contained in a press release dated October 24.
“NEC after thorough deliberation has directed to suspend the strike effective Tuesday 29th October 2024,” the release stated.
UTAG said “it is seeking members’ affirmation or otherwise of this directive.”
The Association has therefore directed the National Independent Elections Committee (NIEC) “to facilitate this process by close of Monday, 28th October 2024, to make an immediate decision on this suspension directive.”
