Ghana has dropped three spots in the most recent FIFA World Rankings, which were made public on Thursday, October 24, 2024.
After their recent dismal performances in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifications, the Black Stars witnessed a massive downturn, falling from 70th place with a total point total of 1360 to 73rd place with 1338 points.
Ghana unexpectedly fell 2-0 in the rematch in Libya after sharing the spoils goalless with Sudan in Accra two weeks prior. Sudan now sits in second position in Group F with seven points, while Ghana is now on the edge of elimination from the competition with just two points from four games.
Despite a string of disappointing performances, Ghana remains ranked 14th in Africa.
Morocco is ranked 13th in the world, followed by Senegal (20th), Egypt (30th), Nigeria (36th), Algeria (37th), Côte d’Ivoire (40th), Tunisia (47th), Cameroon (49th), Mali (54th), Congo Democratic Republic (57th), South Africa (60th), Burkina Faso (62nd), Cape Verde (72nd), and Ghana (73rd).
Ghana will face Angola and Niger to finish the Nations Cup qualifications for Morocco 2025.
