The Vice-Presidential candidate for New Patriotic Party, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) has appealed to the party’s supporters to avoid voting “skirt and blouse” in the upcoming December 7 elections.
He stressed on the importance of voting for both the NPP’s presidential and parliamentary candidates to ensure a unified government.
Speaking to party supporters during a mini rally at Bekwai on his campaign tour of the Bekwai Constituency, Dr Prempeh, pointed out that, electing NPP Parliamentary candidates alongside the presidential candidate is important for securing a majority in Parliament.
In the 2008 elections, an independent candidate won the Parliamentary seat in Bekwai and this development, Dr Prempeh wants the party to avoid.
He attributed that development to disunity and urged the party supporters to vote for both presidential and parliamentary candidates of the NPP.
Dr Prempeh stated, “we didn’t win 2008 parliamentary elections in Bekwai because of disunity. I have also heard most of you would vote “skirt and blouse “. I’m appealing to you all to vote for the NPP parliamentary candidate and presidential candidate. We need development in the Bekwai Constituency.
