Ajax have completed a season-long loan move for Southampton winger Kamaldeen Sulemana with a €20m buy option.
Kamaldeen joined Southampton in 2023 from Rennes for a fee in the region of €23m.
The forward has since gone on to make 44 appearances for the Saints, scoring twice and providing four assists.
Sulemana was amongst a lengthy list of Black Stars players to miss out on head coach Otto Addo’s 23-man squad for Ghana’s 2025 AFCON qualifying games against Angola (September 5) and Niger (September 9), after previously featuring in June’s internationals.
The 22-year-old is yet to feature for Southampton after three Premier League games on their return back to the English top flight due to recurring injuries, which saw him miss 18 games for Southampton last term.
Steven Bergwijn’s departure to Saudi club Al-Ittihad ensured Ajax had enough room to sign Kamaldeen, who becomes the 8th Ghanaian to feature for the club.
This loan move presents Sulemana with a prime opportunity to regain his form and confidence, mirroring the impact Mohammed Kudus made at Ajax.
