Media Personality Jon Germain has recounted how his broadcasting profession begun while he was working at the library department of Choice FM.
Speaking in an interview on 3FM’s Lounge on Monday, September 2, Jon Germain disclosed that his first opportunity to host a show on radio was given to him by the ace presenter, Tommy Annan Forson while he was at Choice FM.
He recounted that Tommy gave him the benefit of the doubt and a chance when everyone else did not believe in him because he worked at the library at Choice FM at that time.
Jon Germain stressed that with the strong backing by Tommy Annan Forson, he hosted his first show on the Drive Time on Choice FM and later became the mid-morning show host.
It was through this that he nurtured his career as a presenter and later joined Metro TV.
“Tommy Annan Forson single-handedly because I remember a lot of people [didn’t like the idea]. How’s the guy in the library going to host a show. There are other presenters who have been doing this for a while and if you want to add a new show to the station’s programmes, you can always give that to another person and then you want to pick the guy in the library to host a show, people didn’t like that idea.
“But Tommy said he is going to do it and he can do it and months after I was hosting the Drive Time show and I got to host the mid-morning show on Choice FM as well and few years later, I was at Metro TV,” he said on 3FM.
