A potential snag has hit the transfer of Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Keyekeh, sparking a dispute between his former club FC Samartex and his new Tanzanian side Singida Black Stars FC.
Samartex released a statement on Wednesday claiming they still hold a valid contract with Keyekeh, despite Black Stars announcing his signing on a three-year deal.
The Ghanaian club allege they were completely unaware of negotiations and are surprised by Keyekeh’s debut for Black Stars against APR FC on Tuesday.
Determined to protect their interests, Samartex are seeking legal counsel to resolve the situation, emphasising they did not release Keyekeh from his contract. The statement also points fingers at Keyekeh’s agent, accusing them of negotiating the transfer without authorization.
Singida Black Stars, however, maintain they followed proper procedures and are confident in the validity of the transfer.
This dispute throws a wrench into Black Stars’ preparations for the upcoming season, as Keyekeh’s availability remain uncertain. A swift resolution is crucial for the Tanzanian club to keep their title aspirations on track.
