Xavi Hernandez says he is full of respect for Joan Laporta’s decision to end his tenure at Barcelona, despite agreeing to stay as manager of the Catalan club in April 2024.
The Blaugrana management has decided to succeed Xavi with German international Hansi Flick ahead of the 2024/2025 season, with many Barcelona fans bothered about how Laporta handled the situation.
Speaking in a pre-match conference ahead of their final match of the season, Xavi Hernandez says he is full of respect for Joan Laporta’s decision to end his tenure at Barcelona, despite agreeing to stay as manager of the Catalan club in April, 2024.is last game on Sunday against Sevilla, Xavi expressed his respect with Joan Laporta’s decision, indicating that his departure will not decrease his love for the club in any way.
“I respect the president’s decision to sack me, it’s him the one who decides. I will always be a Barcelona fan and supporting the club”.

The 44-year-old also touched on a potential return to Spain in the coming years, believing that his time as far from over in the future as a Barcelona manager.
“I enjoy working for Barça. I’m not going to close the door on being able to return, because it’s the Club of my life,” he added.
Xavi clinched two titles in two and a half years at Barcelona and led the club to compete at the highest level although running without a title in his final campaign.
His time at the club may have been short, yet a blend of talent and experience saw him win the hearts of many, as a new chapter opened for him in his coaching career.
