FWSC pleads with CETAG members to allow govt time to address their concerns

The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) has pleaded with agitated lecturers of the 46 colleges of education to be patient as government initiates steps to resolve their demands before May 31.

Chief Executive Officer of FWSC, Ben Arthur who granted an interview with our labour correspondent, Daniel Opoku, said his outfit has taken note of those who are to be paid.

“So, we can only appeal to them to be patient. Government agrees totally on the need to implement the report to get the issues of the CETAG members addressed.

If the NLC rules that there is the need to implement the audit report, the question is that what should be the promoting criteria? So our colleges need to be a little more patient with their regulators,’’ Mr Arthur pleaded.

The leadership of CETAG has served a notice of May 31 to withdraw their services due to what it claims to be delay by government to implement its conditions of service.

“Some of these press conferences are not helpful, we have agreed on a road map. So, all these things tend to affect the road map implementation,” the FWSC boss said.
