Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has expressed his willingness to manage the club again, following their recent struggles in the ongoing campaign.
Sources close to Mourinho have revealed that he would eagerly accept the opportunity to return to Old Trafford for a second stint, despite being sacked by the club in December 2018.
The two-time Champions League winner reportedly told confidants that he would “walk” to Manchester if given the chance to manage United once more.
However, Jose Mourinho is not anticipating any approach from his former club, according to Manchester-based journalist Samuel Luckhurst.
The current United manager, Erik ten Hag, faced a significant setback on Monday night as his team suffered a 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace, marking their 13th loss of the Premier League season.
With United currently eighth in the league table, there is a possibility they could finish outside the top seven for the first time since 1990. Additionally, their 18 defeats this season represent their highest tally since the 1977-78 campaign.

Despite their upcoming FA Cup final against Manchester City on May 25, Ten Hag’s position at the club appears uncertain amid their disappointing performances this season. United have been eliminated from European competitions and exited the League Cup at an early stage.
Reports suggest that United have been evaluating potential replacements for Ten Hag, especially since co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe completed his 27.7% stakeholding in February.
