Ghanaian artiste Gyakie has opened up about her motivations for coming up with her latest single ‘December’.
Gyakie disclosed that following a disappointment and broken heart from a ‘special someone’, she decided to put her thoughts together to compose ‘December’ in order to deal with her emotions.
In an interview on TV3’s New Day on Wednesday, April 10, the ‘Rent free’ hitmaker said she was in a sad moment when she wrote the lyrics for ‘December’.
“It is fully broken heart. Its actually one of the songs I wrote when I was in actually in one of my sad moments and I wrote it in Paris. Every word in the song is literally direct. A special someone disappointed me…the story of the song is in the lyrics of the song when you read the lyrics, you will understand what I mean more,” she told Berla Mundi and Naa Ashorkor.
A snippet of the lyrics of the song reads; “Look into my eyes, what you find, what you see is what you?did?to me, I don’t?believe in love, don’t believe this?would ever work out, If you wanna fight, fight me, don’t call me, just let me be, let me be.”
According to her, ‘December’ which the singer’s first release of the year was supposed to have been released last year during the festive season.

However, she had dropped her hit song ‘Rent free’ at the time, hence her decision to allow the song be enjoyed by Ghanaians to its maximum before dropping another banger.
