William Amponsah has etched his name in the annals of sporting glory by securing Ghana’s first-ever marathon medal at the 2023 African Games.
The long-distance runner clinched the silver medal with an impressive time of 1:05:13s in the Men’s Half Marathon Final held on Friday morning, March 22, 2024, at the University of Ghana Stadium.
Amponsah’s remarkable feat saw him finish second behind Eritrea’s Samsom Amare Hailemicael, showcasing his exceptional endurance and determination on the track.
