The Member of Parliament for Tamale North, Alhasan Suhuyini says he has officially written to the Public Procurement Authority (PPA) to ascertain whether the authority sanctioned any arrangement between the Ministry of Lands and Aynok Holdings or Dzato.
He further disclosed that he was going to file an urgent question to get the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources to clarify the issues since it is just the Chief Director who has spoken before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and has subsequently issued a press release.
“Apart from the request that we have made that we expect the minister to supply to the committee, I have also filed an urgent question and I hope that the speaker will admit it and it will be put on the order paper as soon as possible for the minister to brief the entire nation and for that matter Parliament on this entire matter” Alhasan Suhuyini mentioned in an interview with Johnnie Hughes on 3FM Sunrise Morning Show.
The Chief Director of the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, Prof. Patrick Agbesinyale disclosed to PAC that the ministry, the Ghana Police Service and Ghana Armed Forces contracted an alleged landguard, one Dzato and his firm Aynok Holdings to reclaim their encroached lands.
However, the Ghana Armed Forces and Ghana Police Service have issued press statements to debunk the allegation made by the Chief Director.
