Organised Labour is set to meet management of Sunon Asogli Power (Ghana) Limited on Thursday, July 6 in a final engagement after agreeing to a National Labour Commission (NLC) directive.
The two parties were asked to engage and reach an agreement and report back to the Commission.
This followed a declaration of strike by Organised Labour, starting Monday, July 10.
Organised Labour declared the strike, demanding the reinstatement of three union leaders who were said to have been sacked for joining a union in the Company.
The first meeting was held on Wednesday, July 5.
“It was a long and very fruitful engagement,” Spokesperson of Organised Labour Dr Anthony Yaw Baah told TV3‘s Daniel Opoku after the meeting.
“So, we are hoping that [on Thursday] we can get a deal.”
He admitted that progress has been made and an announcement will also be made after Thursday’s meeting.
Until then, Dr Yaw Baah says the strike still stands and has not been scrapped.
