The 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) placement results would be officially released on September 17, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced.
The Director-General of GES, Professor Ernest Kofi Davis, has assured the public that the school placement exercise would be conducted in a fair, transparent, and strictly merit-based manner, emphasising that the process is completely free of charge.
Addressing a press briefing yesterday in Accra, Prof. Davis warned that no parent or guardian should pay for school placement under any circumstance, and individuals caught engaging in the sale of placement slots would face legal action.
He encouraged the public to report such illegal activities to law enforcement authorities.
Mr Davis congratulated candidates who passed the 2025 BECE, calling it a “significant milestone” in their academic journey.
He urged those who were not successful or ineligible for placement to prepare adequately for future opportunities.
To improve the accuracy of school selections and minimise errors, GES is introducing a review window for candidates to verify and confirm their entries.
“From September 1 to 8, candidates can log onto the official placement portal, www.cssps.gov.gh, to review information such as school choices, gender, and programme codes. An explainer video will also be released on September 9 to guide users through the process,” Prof. Davis said.
He added that placement would be based on candidate performance and available vacancies across senior high schools (SHS), senior high technical schools, and TVET institutions nationwide.
To address issues that may arise after the placement, regional call centres and district-level resolution centres would be activated from September 18.
Prof. Davis discouraged walk-ins at central offices to prevent congestion, stating that local centres would offer more efficient assistance.
First-year students are expected to report to their respective schools between October 18 and 20, 2025.
Prof. Davis urged the media and public to rely solely on verified information from GES, the Ministry of Education, and other official agencies.
He noted that the Education Minister, though absent due to national duties, extended his warm regards to all stakeholders.
“We remain committed to fairness, transparency, and timely communication throughout this process,” he stated.
