Mr Fred Oware, Senior Advisor to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former Vice President, says the latter, who led the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 general elections, enjoys overwhelming support from the grassroots supporters of the party.
According to Fred Oware, if the NPP presidential primary were held today, Dr Bawumia would secure a resounding victory, owing to his popularity and the trust he enjoys among delegates.
“From the support we continue to see across the country, there is no doubt that if the election were held today, Dr Bawumia would win massively.
“His message continues to resonate and our delegates know the future of the NPP is safe with him,” he stated, whilst speaking on Pure FM yesterday.
He stressed that Dr Bawumia’s track record, particularly his leadership in economic management and digital transformation, during his tenure as Vice President, had endeared him to the rank and file of the party.
“The delegates and the ordinary Ghanaian can testify to the work he has done. That is why his support base has only grown stronger since the last primary,” Mr Oware added.
He pleaded with party members to remain united behind Dr Bawumia, as the NPP prepares for the 2024 general elections, noting that internal cohesion will be key to securing victory.
“This is the time for us to rally behind our candidate. Unity is our strength and with Dr Bawumia at the helm, the NPP is poised for success,” he said.
