I hope that government is not just sitting there to allow this insanity of desecrating our sacred national sites and flag, by South Africans, Rue and Lue, to die a natural death. Our culture subscribes severe punishment for anyone who desecrate sacred sites and objects.
Come to think of it, per the words spoken by Communication Officer Ling Shepherd of the Triangle Project on why Rue and Lue came down to do, it is an insult to all Ghanaians.
A report on Mamba Online.Com on its June 25, 2025 report on an article by Roberto Igual had this to state: “The #ShowGhanaLove campaign was a bold, public act of queer solidarity and a response to rising hate and the threat of criminalisation in Ghana,” Ling Sheperd, Triangle Project’s Communications Officer, told MambaOnline.
“In a time when queer people are being silenced and erased, the choice was made to show love loudly, defiantly, and publicly. We believe that love is not a threat — hate is. And queer love, especially in Africa, must be seen, honoured, and protected.”
Then mentally deranged couple, Rue and Lue had this to say: “Never in our lives did we think we’d find ourselves in Ghana, doing something so simple and yet so defiant. A few months ago, we came across an article about the Ghanaian government’s attempt to pass an anti-LGBTQIA bill… Through the #ShowGhanaLove campaign, we’re confronting the erasure and criminalisation of queer people by love-bombing Ghana’s iconic landmarks of freedom, showing that until queer people are free, no one truly is.”
The question is, of what concern are the laws we pass in this country, got to do with Black South Africans? As Blacks, we have a culture where same-sex relationships are an abomination, a taboo. If fact, our culture does not permit any form of sexual immorality in the natural order, what more in the queer and perverse order. That is why fornication and adultery are denounced as acts of breaking down society. So, we have adwoaman (adultery and fornication) which in Ga can translate to mean, they are breaking up the society.
God has put laws against LGBTQ activities in the heart and soul of everyone, irrespective of religious beliefs. So, these queer acts are completely abhorred until the White Man, started believing that he is wiser than God. And gradually, sex, which is a sacred gift of God to man, is being profaned, first no longer restricted to married couples and now LGBTQ has stepped in.
Africa, especially Black Africa, holds high the tenets of God on the issue of sex, and so, it is surprising that South Africa which is one of the Black African culture bases on the African continent, should turn away and adopt LGBTQ . Maybe, we should not be surprised. Under the apartheid regime, the minds of Black South Africans were indoctrinated to find queer sex as a hallmark of civilization and some of the Blacks accept this without question, as they accept from the Whites that other Black Africans are so inferior, so they can be treated as trash and killed in the Black South African’s sport of hunting called xenophobia.
According to the Triangle Project, the safety of Ghanaians who break moral law is of concern to South Africans. And so, they had to come in to defiantly show love to LGBTQ activists in Ghana. And to them love is not a threat. How irresponsible are they.
Then Rue and Lue also came in to say that their visit to town is to stand in solidarity with the queer people in Ghana.
We were made to understand that South Africa is backing the Palestinians, so why did Rue and Lue not go to Palestine or any Islamic state and spread this stupid love? It is very obvious that South Africa sponsored the Palestinians, so why did the Triangle Project not send emissaries there but chose Ghana, where not a rand from South African has ever come into our kitty.
All said, Rue and Lue has come down here to desecrate our sacred places and objects. When Nkrumah was saying “Africa, must be free forever,” he never thought of LGBTQ to equate it into that statement. But Black South Africans send down people to come and defy the resting place of the greatest African who ever lived.
Can they do this in the resting place of Nelson Mandela and live to read the following day’s newspapers?
The big question is what is H.E. John Dramani Mahama doing about this? Why is the South African high commissioner not summoned to answer questions about the misconduct of these Black South Africans? Why is national security, not up and doing to arrest these two off-key young men and made them to face justice.
I am sure that if it were Ghanaians who did this unthinkable, they would be in jail by now.
When in opposition Ghanaians saw the NDC as a party striving to bring about decency and good morals in sexual life. What Rue and Lue just did is to attempt to say that the noise made to push the anti-LGBTQ bill into motion, was just political talk. Now is the time for the President and government to prove people wrong. They should go after these Black South Africans and deal with them, well.
