Heart of Lions head coach Bashir Hayford has described his team’s draw against Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League on Friday as a true reflection of the contest.
The two clubs locked horns at the Kpando Sports Stadium and put up a fight in their bid to take maximum points from their Week 26 fixture.
Despite their best efforts, neither side could find the back of the net, as the encounter ended in a stalemate.
Speaking in his post-match interview, Bashir Hayford argued that the result is fair and both teams deserved to take a point from the match.
“Well, I think this one is a true reflection of the game. Hearts of Oak played very well, very solid at the defense and then we also played very well at the defense and then we were all trying to make sure we use the midfield to break the lines, but it was difficult for both teams. I think half a loaf is better than none. We will take it and go away and see what will happen,” the experienced coach said.
The draw against Hearts of Oak leaves Heart of Lions sitting ninth in the Ghana Premier League standings. The Phobians, on the other hand, remain third in the league log but could drop out of the top four if results from games on Sunday go against them.
