Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku has extended warm wishes to Muslims in Ghana and around the world as they celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr.
In a message on behalf of the GFA Executive Council and the football community, Okraku described the occasion as a time of joy following the successful completion of Ramadan. He noted that the holy month represents a period of sacrifice, discipline and devotion to Allah, with believers demonstrating commitment through fasting and prayer.
He added that Eid-ul-Fitr offers an opportunity to reflect on shared values such as unity, compassion, humility and generosity, which also play an important role within the football space.
Okraku stressed that football continues to serve as a unifying force that brings people together regardless of background, and reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to inclusivity and mutual respect.
“As this special festival is celebrated, may it renew in us all the values that bind us together as a people,” he said.
He concluded by praying for peace, joy and prosperity for Muslim families, expressing hope that the celebration will bring blessings to homes across the country and beyond.
“Eid Mubarak to all our Muslim brothers and sisters,” he added.
