New Black Stars forward Prince Osei Owusu has shared his anticipation ahead of Ghana's international friendly against Germany later in March.
The German-born striker is expected to make the Black Stars squad for the game against the country of his birth and the match against Austria as Ghana prepares for the World Cup.
Owusu made his Ghana debut in November last year after completing his nationality switch.
"I did my debut last season and this year I was in Ghana too, in December to New Year, I celebrated the New Year in Ghana with my family and it was a special day and a special moment. I made my debut and I thank God for that," he told GhanaSoccernet in an exclusive interview.
The 29-year-old had represented Germany throughout the lower levels but representing his roots makes him proud, stating how important it is for his career.
"For me it is a very special game," he said in anticipation of the Germany friendly. "It will be a very very big day for me and my family and also my friends, but's all in God's hands and if I am invited I will be glad and happy but also I am focused to do a big performance and help the team," he added.
Owusu has been in fine form for CF Montreal, netting his first goal of the season as the Canadian outfit run riot over New York Red Bulls on Sunday evening at the Sports Illustrated Stadium. He also made history by becoming Montreal's tenth all-time leading scorer in the MLS.
The lanky forward spent most of his career in Germany before moving to the MLS, where he previously featured for Toronto FC.
