The Ghana Football Association has directed that the abandoned Division One League fixture between Port City FC and True Democracy FC be continued behind closed doors on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. The decision follows the final ruling of the GFA Disciplinary Committee regarding the Access Bank Division One League Matchday 14 encounter, which was abandoned in January due to crowd disturbances. According to the ruling, the match will resume at the Ohene Ameyaw Park and is scheduled to kick off at 10am, with no spectators allowed. Initially, the Disciplinary Committee imposed a temporary ban on the venue following the incident. However, the ban was lifted after two weeks, although both clubs were sanctioned for breaches of competition regulations. Port City FC were found guilty of inappropriate conduct by their supporters, violating Articles 16(2)(f) and 16(2)(h) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019. The Zone Three club has therefore been fined GHS10,000. True Democracy FC were also sanctioned after their supporters were found responsible for invading a designated restricted area, in contravention of Article 10(g)(vi) of the Enhanced Matchday Safety and Security Protocols, 2025. The club has been fined GHS30,000 and issued a stern warning against any future misconduct. In a statement announcing the decision, the Ghana FA confirmed the arrangements for the resumption of the match and urged all stakeholders to comply with the directive. “Following the decision of the Disciplinary Committee regarding the Access Bank Division One League Matchday 14 fixture between Port City and True Democracy, we hereby announce that the game will continue on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at the Kukurantumi Ohene Ameyaw Park,” the statement said. “The match has been scheduled to kick off at 10:00 a.m. and will be played behind closed doors. All relevant stakeholders are kindly requested to take note and make the necessary arrangements accordingly.”
