Asante Kotoko interim head coach Prince Yaw Owusu has opened up on the steps taken to revive his side's morale following the demoralising Super Clash defeat to Hearts of Oak, revealing that honest conversations and unity paved the way for their return to winning ways.
Speaking to AKSC Media ahead of Sunday's clash against Vision FC, Owusu admitted the 1-0 loss to their fiercest rivals hit the squad hard.
"After the Hearts of Oak game, morale was low," he confessed.
The defeat left players and staff grappling with disappointment, with the weight of expectation compounding the pain. But instead of dwelling on the setback, Owusu and his technical team moved swiftly to address the mood in camp.
"We held a few meetings to lift the players' spirits," he revealed.
The approach worked. Kotoko responded with a commanding 2-0 victory over Young Apostles in their next outing, restoring belief and proving the squad's resilience.
"Luckily, we bounced back with a victory. We are ready to face Vision FC as well. It won't be easy, but in the end, victory will be ours."
Kotoko now turn their attention to Vision FC at Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, kickoff at 3:00 pm, aiming to build momentum and continue their climb up the league table.
