The Black Stars technical team, led by Otto Addo, has been closely monitoring Lord Amoah of Asante Kotoko ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The global tournament, set to be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, will feature an expanded field of 48 nations, with Ghana securing one of Africa’s nine automatic slots. The West African giants are drawn in Group L alongside European powerhouse England national football team, 2018 finalists Croatia national football team, and Panama national football team.
According to Kessben FM, the Black Stars technical team has been tracking the talented full-back since the start of the Ghana Premier League season. He was also one of the few players closely monitored during the high-profile Super Clash between Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, a match where the Phobians came out on top.
Over recent weeks, Addo, the former talent development coach at Borussia Dortmund, has been scouting the progress of several Ghanaian players in Europe. He extended his focus to the domestic league, attending the Super Clash at the Baba Yara Stadium alongside his technical team.
The 22-year-old right-back joined Asante Kotoko in the summer of 2024 and has since become a key member of the squad. This season, the former Berekum Chelsea defender has made 22 appearances across all competitions, contributing one goal and an assist.
