Former Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has admitted that he was disappointed after the club reassigned him to take the role of a technical advisor.
The top hierarchy of the Ghanaian giants at the end of the 2024/25 football season decided to change the technical brains leading the first team.
In an official notice in June 2025, the club said Ouattara had been reassigned to work as a technical advisor to the Board of Directors after they appointed Didi Dramani as the new head coach.
“As a special advisor, Ouattara will be working directly with the Board of Directors on special assignments and duties," a statement from the club disclosed.
Speaking to Top FM in an interview on January 8, Aboubakar Ouattara opened up about how he felt after he was informed he would no longer serve as the head coach of Hearts of Oak.
According to him, he was left disappointed, especially after he had put in place a plan for the next season.
“I felt disappointed after I was informed to perform the role of the technical advisor because I had a template to put to reality as the head coach,” Ouattara bemoaned.
