The club's move for the experienced player comes at a critical time. Berekum Chelsea currently finds itself in a dire league position, sitting in 16th place in the Ghana Premier League table and deeply involved in a relegation battle after the first half of the campaign.

Tenedu became available on the transfer market after having his contract with Asante Kotoko terminated by mutual consent recently, making him a free agent.
