Basake Holy Stars coach Johnson Smith was full of praise for his players on Monday after their hard-fought 1-1 draw against Medeama SC in the Ghana Premier League.
Holy Stars played away to the Yellow and Mauves in their Week 15 fixture staged at TnA Stadium.
On the matchday, Basake Holy Stars defended resolutely, scoring first through Moses Author and only missing out on the three points as a result of a late strike from Kingsley Braye, who ensured Medeama SC earned a point.
Speaking in his post-match interview, Johnson Smith applauded his Holy Stars players for a top performance away from home, insisting that they executed the game plan very well and played to his instructions.
“The game was not bad. This is how I told the boys to play, so what they did was very good. The boys are responding to the instruction. We have only five defenders, so whenever there is a problem, there is trouble,” Smith said.
The draw against Medeama SC means Johnson Smith is unbeaten with Basake Holy Stars since his appointment. In five matches, he has led the team to three wins and two draws.
