Dutch forward of Ghanaian descent, Don-Angelo Konadu, was on target for Ajax on Wednesday evening, helping the team to thump Excelsior Maassluis 7-2 in the Dutch Cup.
The talented 19-year-old started in the attack of the Eredivisie giants in the Round 32 clash against Excelsior Maassluis.
In the game played at Sportpark Dijkpolder, Ajax were unplayable throughout the 90 minutes and made light work of the opponent.
The visiting team opened the scoring just 12 minutes into the first half when Owen Wijndal scored after he was assisted by Mika Godts.
Later in the 19th minute, Anton Gaaei doubled the lead for Ajax, before Don-Angelo Konadu made it 3-0 with a fine strike five minutes later.
Before halftime, Jorthy Mokio also found the back of the net, ensuring Ajax went into the break with a huge 4-0 lead.
After recess, both teams opened up play and produced a goal fest. Goals from Jorthy Mokio, Rayane Bounida, and Raul Moro propelled Ajax to a 7-2 victory, with the consolation goals for Excelsior Maassluis coming from Devin Plank and Jannick Verbont.
In the big win, taking Ajax to the Dutch Cup Round of 16, Don-Angelo Konadu lasted 72 minutes before making way for Pharell Nash. He is continuously improving and has been tipped to become a key first eleven player very soon.
