Karela United coach Nurudeen Amadu has condemned Young Apostles’ supporters for “barbaric behavior” following his side’s 2-1 defeat at Wenchi Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Young Apostles ended a five-match winless streak in the Ghana Premier League with a hard-fought victory.
The hosts moved level on 20 points with Karela United after recording their fourth home win this season.
"I think in the first half they played very well. In the second half, we also came out strongly. But when the incident led to the second goal, it’s questionable, and that is very unfortunate.
"But that’s football. It wasn’t a bad game for either side. They needed the win badly. However, you have to warn your supporters. We are going to the World Cup.
"Some of the things they do here are unacceptable. We have to move away from this barbaric way of doing things and adopt a modern approach."
Abdul Ganiyu gave Young Apostles the lead in the 20th minute with a powerful strike that left the visitors scrambling.
Karela United responded in the 36th minute when Felix Morty squeezed the ball into the net amid a penalty-box scramble to equalize.
The hosts reclaimed the lead just four minutes into the second half through Issah Nyaabila, whose finish proved decisive.
