The senior brother of Asante Kotoko midfielder Samuel Tenedu has been killed in a violent robbery at his home in Obuasi Asonkore.
The victim, identified as Danso, was attacked late at night after suspected armed robbers allegedly forced their way into the residence.
Family sources said Danso had arrived in Ghana from abroad only five days earlier to spend a short holiday.
His wife disclosed that he was scheduled to return overseas this Sunday, December 14, 2025.
The incident has sparked shock and grief within the Obuasi Asonkore community and among followers of the Ghana Premier League.
According to accounts from the victim’s wife, the assailants demanded money and issued threats during the invasion.
“The armed robbers told me to show them where the money was, or they’d kill me, so I showed them where the money was. They tied my mouth and told me not to shout,” she said.
“He didn’t struggle with them. Once they opened the door, they struck my husband in the head,” she added.
“Danso had come for holidays, and he was even telling me he would leave this Sunday,” she stated.
In the aftermath, Asante Kotoko granted Samuel Tenedu permission to leave camp to mourn with his family.
