Ghanaian forward Felix Afena-Gyan opened his league goal account for Amedspor in their impressive 3-0 away triumph over Manisa FK at the Mumin Ozkasap Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The 22-year-old, who joined the Turkish TFF First League side in the summer, was handed another opportunity to impress, and he delivered a composed performance capped with a well-taken goal late in the contest.
Veteran defender Mehmet Ucar broke the deadlock for Amedspor in the 36th minute, guiding home a fine delivery to hand the visitors a deserved lead.
After the break, Malian forward Adama Traore doubled the advantage in the 63rd minute, finishing off a slick attacking move as Amedspor tightened their grip on the match.
Afena-Gyan then put the icing on the cake with a superb strike a minute from time, latching onto an assist from Traore to seal all three points.
The goal was the Ghanaian’s first in the Turkish second-tier league since his move, a moment that will boost his confidence after a challenging spell with Serie A side Cremonese.
The win lifts Amedspor up the table as they continue their quest for promotion, with Afena-Gyan’s form offering fresh optimism for the club’s campaign.
