Ghanaian international Eugene Ansah delivered a top-class performance for FC Ashdod on Saturday, scoring to inspire his outfit to an emphatic home victory over Hapoel Haifa in Israeli top-flight.
The 30-year-old Ghanaian attacker played full throttle of the match, as his outfit made light work of their opponent in the round 9 fixture, held at the Yud-Alef Stadium.
Ansah played a pivotal role by registering his name on the scoresheet, contributing to FC Ashdod’s impressive 4-1 home victory over Hapoel Haifa. The Ghana international influence was evident as his outfit secured maximum points.
The home team were handed an early scare after Javon East gave Hapoel Haifa the lead, just two minutes into the match.
However, FC Ashdod responded with an equalizer in the 33rd-minute through Ibrahim Diakite before Jean Batoum doubled the advantage for the host in the 37th-minute.
Ashdod continued their dominance in the match, with Ori Azo scoring to extend the lead before the half hour mark.
However, it was the Ghanaian international who cemented the win for the host after scoring deep into stoppage time.
Ansah has been outstanding since the commencement of the current campaign, scoring five goals and providing five assists in nine appearances for FC Ashdod in the Israeli top-flight.
