Clinton Duodu announced himself in style, netting his first goal of the season as Apollon Limassol secured a dominant 5-1 triumph over MEAP Nisou in the Cyprus Cup.
The former Bechem United forward’s strike came at a crucial moment, helping Apollon pull away decisively in the second half. Duodu’s relentless work rate and sharp instincts were on display, earning him praise from both fans and teammates.
Morgan Brown scored the first goal for the away side in the 8th minute. Lazar Markovic and Pedro Marques scored the second and third goals. Duodo scored Limmasol's 4th goal in the 64th minute. Thomas Lam scored the fifth goal in the 70th minute.
This latest goal pushes Duodu’s tally to two contributions in eight appearances, an encouraging sign for his adaptation to Cypriot football.
With eyes now set on their upcoming league fixture against AEK, Duodu and his teammates will be eager to carry this winning momentum into the domestic campaign.
Limassol is 7th on the Cyprus League table with 13 points after eight games.
