Excitement is building at FC Koln as striker Ragnar Ache is tipped to start in Sunday’s home clash against Hamburger SV.
According to reports, coach Lukas Kwasniok plans to reward Ache, 27, for his spirited performances. Ache recently played the full match in the DFB-Pokal against Bayern Munich, notching his first competitive goal for Koln, giving fans a taste of what he can bring.
Coach Kwasniok praised Ache’s efforts, saying, “The odds are high he starts because he simply did a fantastic job and brings a different component into the game.”
Kwasniok highlighted not just Ache's goal, but his strength in the air and tireless pressing, adding, “He won almost every header, worked extremely hard, and made us dangerous on set pieces.” This commitment is likely to earn Ache a place in the Bundesliga starting line-up.
Though the coach admitted Ache probably can’t last the full 90 minutes, “He certainly has 45 minutes in his tank”, the impact Ache makes in his time on the pitch could shape the outcome.
Fans hope his DFB-Pokal goal is just the beginning of a successful run in the league.
