The Hohoe Sports Stadium will host a historic Ghana Premier League clash on Saturday afternoon when Hohoe United face Medeama SC in their first-ever league meeting.
Hohoe United, who are experiencing their maiden Premier League campaign following promotion last season, have found the going tough in recent weeks. They head into the fixture after back-to-back defeats against Samartex and Aduana FC, results that have seen them slip to 10th place in the standings with eight points from seven matches.
In contrast, Medeama SC are flying high at the summit of the league table with 16 points from seven games, having gone four matches unbeaten. The former champions’ most recent outing, a composed victory over Swedru All Blacks, has further boosted confidence within the camp.
Speaking to Medi TV, Medeama head coach Ibrahim Tanko praised Hohoe United’s quality but assured fans that his team is well-prepared. "They are a very good side with a very good coach, and we saw them in their first match against Hearts of Oak. We have watched them, and we are going to map up a strategy that we think will overcome them," he said.
Hohoe United will rely on home advantage to rediscover their rhythm, but with Medeama’s growing consistency and experience, the visitors enter the encounter as firm favourites.
