Pressure continues to mount on Berekum Chelsea coach Samuel Boadu, who will be desperate to halt his side’s poor run when they face Young Apostles on Sunday at the Wenchi Sports Stadium.
Chelsea have suffered back-to-back defeats, losing at home to Hearts of Oak before falling to Bibiani GoldStars in midweek, results that have left Boadu’s position increasingly uncertain. The former Hearts of Oak boss admitted his frustration after the home loss to Hearts, lamenting missed chances and defensive lapses.
"It was really bad," Boadu said after the match. "We created a lot of chances and squandered them. During the second half, it was quite unfortunate, the corner kicks that hit the bar and went in."
In contrast, Young Apostles are enjoying a fine run of form. The newcomers have gone three matches unbeaten, securing consecutive wins over Basake Holy Stars and Dreams FC. Their recent momentum makes them strong favourites heading into this clash.
The two teams have met twice since October 2024, each winning once. Their most recent meeting in April 2025 ended 2-1 in favour of Young Apostles.
Statistically, Young Apostles have been efficient this season with three wins, one draw, and one defeat from five matches, scoring six goals and conceding four. Berekum Chelsea, meanwhile, have managed just one win and one draw in six games, finding the net three times while conceding eight.
Young Apostles sit 6th on the table with 10 points, while Chelsea are languishing in 16th place with four points. For Samuel Boadu, anything short of victory on Sunday could further deepen his troubles.
