President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has expressed his desire to see Ghana lift the FIFA World Cup trophy under his leadership.
The four-time African champions will compete at the 2026 World Cup next summer in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
Ghana's best performance in the history of the Mundial was in 2010, where the team played in the quarterfinals in South Africa.
With the tournament set to get underway in June next year, Mr Okraku says guiding Ghana to victory on football’s biggest stage would be a dream come true.
“I want to win the World Cup. I want to win the World Cup. I’m going to tell the coach that I want to win the World Cup. That should be our vision,” he told 3Sports.
“Because you don’t go to war thinking about not finishing it or not coming out as victors," he added.
As part of the team's preparations ahead of the 2026 World Cup, the Black Stars will face Japan and South Korea in an international friendly game on November 14 and 18, respectively, in Asia.
Meanwhile, Ghana will discover their group phase opponents on December 5.
