GFA President Kurt Okraku has issued a strong warning ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, making it clear that players who previously declined to represent Ghana will not be considered for selection.
After the Black Stars’ qualification, reports have emerged of renewed interest from some dual nationals, including Eddie Nketiah, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Francis Amuzu.
But Okraku maintains that only those who have shown genuine commitment and pride in the national team will be welcomed.
"Players who have not shown enough commitment to the Ghanaian flag will not be part of us," he told 3Sports.
"There must be a good reason why a player is included in the travelling party. I want players who display dedication, passion, and respect for Ghana."
He emphasised that integrity and loyalty will remain the foundation of squad selection.
"If we have approached you before and you turned us down, if you’ve shown a lack of respect or refused to play for Ghana in the past - count yourself out," he said.
Ghana booked its place at the 2026 World Cup after a 1-0 win over Comoros in Accra.
The four-time African champions will know their group opponents on December 5 when the draw is conducted.
