Heart of Lions will be aiming to return to winning ways when they welcome struggling Basake Holy Stars to the Kpando Sports Stadium on Friday in matchweek seven of the Ghana Premier League.
The Kpando-based outfit suffered their first defeat of the season last weekend, falling 3-1 to defending champions Bibiani GoldStars after going unbeaten in their opening five matches.
Despite that setback, Lions have been formidable on home soil, winning all of their last five league games in Kpando - a record that underscores their growing strength and confidence in front of their fans.
It has been a difficult start to the 2025/26 campaign for Holy Stars. They are still searching for their first win of the season after five outings and are yet to find the back of the net.
Their struggles in attack have been a major concern, and facing one of the league’s most defensively organized teams away from home will be a stern test.
Adding to their worries, Holy Stars have failed to win any of their away fixtures in the top-flight since their famous victory over Hearts of Oak in last season’s opener.
Lions will be favourites to secure all three points as they look to bounce back, while Holy Stars will be desperate to end their barren run and kick-start their season.
