Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have safely arrived in Morocco ahead of their crucial CAF Confederation Cup clash against Wydad Casablanca.
The technical team led by Abdul Karim Zito and the players of the Ghanaian football heavyweights landed at the Mohammed V International Airport on Wednesday morning as they gear up for the high-stake clash against the Moroccan giants.
The Porcupine Warriors head into the return clash, scheduled for Friday, October 24, 2025 at the Mohammed V Sports Complex with a one goal deficit after falling short in the first leg of the second preliminary round, held at the Accra Sports Stadium last Sunday.
Kotoko traveled with 20-man squad, with notable players like Albert Amoah, Samba O’Neil, Patrick Asiedu, Peter Amidu, and Emmanuel Antwi making the cut.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Mohammed Camara, who is suspended for the return leg has been included in the traveling squad.
As mandated by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Kotoko will train at the match venue on Thursday before the crucial clash on Friday evening.
Despite the defeat, Karim Zito has refused to give up on qualification, assuring a much improved performance in the return leg this weekend.
“It’s not over for us. Anything can happen in the return leg. We are not going there as losers, we are going to stamp our feet and play better than what we did here” he added.
The two-time CAF Champions League holders will be hoping to grind results in the second leg in Morocco as they seek to progress to the next stage of the competition despite first leg setback in Accra.
