Leicester City manager Martà Cifuentes says his outfit would have secured a win against Portsmouth if Ghana forward Jordan Ayew and Luke Thomas had converted their chances in the match at the weekend.
The Black Stars captain made substitute appearance on his return from Ghana duty as the Foxes shared the spoils with Portsmouth in the Championship clash.
Leicester City opened the scoring through Aaron Ramsey in the 26th-minute mark after being set up by Ghana international Fatawu Issahaku.
After the break, the visitors staged a strong comeback to level the score in the 58th-minute mark through John Swift as the game ended in stalemate.
Ahead of their game against Hull City, Martà Cifuentes has rued Ayew’s missed chance that cost them a win against Portsmouth.
“In the last 15-20 minutes we were gaining a bit more control. We had Jordan [Ayew’s] chance and Luke [Thomas’] chance to win the game, but the second half was not at the level that we wanted. I’m very self-critical and we should have done much better” he said.
Jordan Ayew is expected to play a huge role for Leicester City when they take on Hull City at the MKM Stadium on Tuesday.
The 34-year-old Ghanaian forward has scored one goal in 9 appearances for Leicester City in the Championship this season.
