Ghana international Bernard Mensah encountered a challenging match, receiving the marching orders in Al-Nasr’s defeat to Al-Wasl in the United Arab Emirates Pro League on Saturday.
The former Black Stars midfielder was handed a starting role, but his participation in the crucial encounter was cut short before the halftime break.
The former Atletico Madrid star received a straight red card as Al Nasr succumbed to a 2-1 away defeat to Al-Wasl in the round six clash, held at the Zabeel Stadium.
Al-Wasl shot into the lead in the 26th-minute mark through Adryelson before Ali Saleh scored to double the advantage for the home team.
The visitors was forced to play with ten-men throughout the second following Mensah’s unfortunate red card in the first half.
In the 53rd-minute mark, the visitors managed to pull one back through Abdoulaye Toure as the game ended 2-1 for the host.
The 31-year-old Ghanaian midfielder joined Al-Nasr in the summer transfer window, signing a two-year deal with the club.
Since joining the side, Mensah has made four appearances in the UAE Pro League without scoring or assisting a goal.
