Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has pledged his full support for President John Mahama’s national reset agenda, saying football will align with the government’s broader vision of renewal across key sectors.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu, a day after Ghana’s qualification for the 2026 World Cup, Okraku said the GFA was committed to contributing to the President’s efforts to rebuild the nation.
“I think that we’ll work together to ensure we all follow the agenda of the President of our country, who has set out to reset all facets of our nation, including football,” he stated.
The meeting also focused on the revival of school sports as a foundation for nurturing talent and strengthening the country’s sporting culture.
Okraku emphasised that President Mahama’s active involvement in football matters had already begun to yield positive results.
“I believe that the recent developments â his personal commitment and his visit to the team â are clearly having an impact on the football ecosystem,” he said.
He added that the domestic league continues to show improvement and praised Ghana’s qualification for the World Cup as a sign of progress in the national game.
