Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, has commended the impressive performance of midfielder Kwesi Sibo for his impressive performances since earning his first call-up to the national team.
The Real Oviedo midfielder earned a maiden call-up to the senior national team ahead of the Matchday 8 games of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali.
Sibo was slotted into the starting XI as the Black Stars secured a vital 1-0 win at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The 26-year-old went on to play in the final games against Central African Republic and Comoros as the team went on to secure qualification to the World Cup.
Speaking exclusively to Joy Sports, Otto Addo was full of admiration for the energetic midfield enforcer.
“He’s made really good impressions,” Otto said. "He trained two times with us; he was so impressive, and I decided to play him.”
“He told me, âI was born ready,’ when he landed, and I asked if he was ready to play,” he added.
Sibo is expected to play a crucial role at the Mundial, which will be co-hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico next summer.
Meanwhile, Ghana will discover their 2026 World Cup group opponents on December 5.
