Reigning Africa Cup of Nations champions, Ivory Coast, have booked their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup tournament.
The Elephants sealed their spot at next year’s global showpiece on Tuesday night with an emphatic 3-0 victory to close Group F.
The win was just what the Ivory Coast needed to ensure the result from the game between Gabon and Burundi wouldn’t have any bearing on their qualification hopes.
On the matchday, the hosts got off to a flying start, scoring after just seven minutes into the first half when Franck Kessie equalised after he was set up by Amad Diallo.
That goal was enough to give Ivory Coast control at halftime before second-half goals from Yan Diomande and Amad Diallo in the 54th and 84th minutes, respectively, secured the 3-0 triumph against Kenya.
With 26 points to top Group F, Ivory Coast have successfully qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

For the Elephants, this will be their fourth appearance at the world stage, having previously featured in 2006, 2010, and 2014.
Meanwhile, Gabon will compete in the African playoffs for a chance to qualify for the World Cup after coming second in Group F with 25 points.
