Black Stars are set to conclude their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign tonight when they face Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 7pm local time.
Ghana sit three points ahead of Madagascar and need just a draw to advance to the next stage of the qualifiers. Even a defeat could still see Otto Addo’s side through, unless Madagascar manage a remarkable victory over Mali in Bamako. The Black Stars enjoy a superior goal difference of +16 compared to Madagascar’s +8, and also have the head-to-head advantage after beating them home and away.
More than 35,000 fans are expected to pack the 40,000-capacity Accra Sports Stadium after the National Sports Authority reopened previously restricted sections and released the full ticket allocation, which sold out in record time earlier today.
Ghana have been flawless at home in the qualifiers, with notable victories including a hard-fought 1-0 win over Mali and a thrilling 4-3 triumph against the Central African Republic in Kumasi. Their only defeat in the entire campaign came away to Comoros in Moroni.
Tonight’s clash gives Otto Addo’s men the chance to officially secure qualification and complete their recovery from that setback as they chase a fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico in 2026.
